Printing Questions
Q: How do I pay for my printing. How much does it cost to print a document
A: Please check with lab assistants at the desk in the Open Access Lab. Printing is 10 cents/page for black and white; 50 cents/page for color; and $1.00/page for large format. Copy machine costs are 15 cents/page.
Q: Since I'm paying for my printing, what level of quality should I expect?
A: We will offer print quality sufficient to submit work to an instructor at Foothill College.
Q: There is a problem with my print job.
A: If there is a problem with a print job due to printer malfunction, we will reprint the job at no cost to you. Please see a classroom support staff person for assistance.
Q: I accidentally printed the wrong file. Can you print the correct file for me?
A: No. Once you release a print job from your workstation, you are charged for the printing. If you send the wrong file, simply delete the job from the queue instead of releasing it, or do nothing, and the job will be deleted automatically in 2 hours.
Q: I want to print on paper other than that provided in the classrooms. Can I do this? What will I be charged?
A: We provide 20lb. stock 8.5" x 11" white paper. If you would like to print to a different size paper, transparency film or other media, please ask for assistance from a lab assistant. User supplied media must be verified against the specifications of our printers to avoid damage. You will be charged the same per sheet fee as if you were using the supplied paper.

Additional Information
Q: When do the student mediation classrooms close?
A: Typically, these rooms close when a class is over. If an instructor would like to stay later in the room, they may feel free to do so, assuming there isn't another class. Students are not allowed to remain in the room without an instructor present.
Q: Do all of the classrooms have the same schedule during finals week?
A: The classrooms on campus do not have the same schedule during finals week. Your classroom may be in use during your normal instructional period by another class. Your dean can provide you with the location of your final exam.
Q: What if someone tries to use a computer in the room while I'm teaching a class?
A: Just like any other class on campus, only students enrolled in your class are permitted to be in the classroom. Classrooms are not open access labs. The open access lab is in the lower level of the KCI. Please direct any student looking for an open access computer to this lab.
Q: Why can't my students and I have food or drink in the classroom?
A: We ask that you cooperate with us and not allow food or drink in the classroom in order to keep the room presentable and equipment functioning for all users.
