Module 1.3 EWYL Deliverables

Attendance: Summer Institute and Year-long Requirements

You must attend the 15 days of the Summer Institute. If you must miss a day then you will need to make it up by:

  1. Coming to the KCI during the first two weeks in August to work on your project
  2. Arranging with Linda Ullah to come to the KCI to work with her on your project or tutorial(s) of missed curriculum.

You must also complete:

  • Tasks (groupwork and in-class exercises)
  • Homework
  • Be active and responsive in the My eCoach Message Board

The following year-long attendance requirements must be met:

  1. Attend 3 (18 hours) of the following follow-up class dates (MARK YOUR CALENDAR):

    Oct. 14
    Nov. 4
    Dec. 9
    Jan. 27
    Feb. 10

  2. Attend 2 units (12 hours of class) of LINC classes (paid for by participant)

  3. Participate in ONE of the following:

    • I-CUE Conference (one day)
    • Reading and Scoring 2006-07 EWYL Institute applications (one day)
    • Scoring CA Media and Multimedia Festival Projects (one day)
      Attending the Technology Help class on Fridays at the KCI (total of 6 hours minimum)

 

 

The following items are due at the end of the Summer Institute:

  1. A detailed project plan in the form of a Web page or Web site with all elements functioning.

  2. A WebQuest or sample project (to show students)

  3. A digital video (digital story—a good story, well told) to take back to use at your school/district, etc. about what you have learned this summer.
  4. A poster for your project
Here is a list of ideas that you can use for your digital video/story:
 
  • Educational issues
  • Technology Integration
  • NCLB and PBL/Technology
  • Student Learning Styles
  • Teaching strategies with technology
  • Project Based Learning
  • Engaging Students
  • Information Literacy
  • Copyright, Acceptable Use, Child Internet Safety, etc.
  • Testing Issues
  • Multiple Intelligences
  • Thematically planned curriculum/integrated instruction
  • Multimedia in the Classroom
  • A “how to” software tutorial
  • Any educational topic of your choice (with instructor approval)



Year-Long Expectations

  1. Active online follow up in My eCoach http://www.my-ecoach.com
  2. Respond promptly to all information gathering surveys and emails
  3. Mentor and coach two teachers at your school or in your district to integrate technology into their curriculum
  4. Promotion of LINC classes in your school or district

    • Passing out LINC brochures and flyers
    • Presenting at a staff meeting about the KCI and LINC

Project and Multimedia Submission Deadlines

  1. Complete student projects by APRIL 1, 2007
  2. Submit at least one student project to the CA Media and Multimedia Festival in mid-April, 2007
